How to Get Reviews

Oct 20, 2020

Hi, I'm Dave Kats with Therapist Consultants and I have a tip for you.

I will never forget when I was a young man learning about the internet, I did all the things my coach told me to have a good internet presence and yet I wasn't number one in our area. I said to him, "Why am I not number one? I've done everything that you told me to do." He said, "Well, Dave, it's very hard to get to the top unless you have enough reviews." That message stayed with me forever.
If you find that you're not at the top of your internet game and you need to have more new patients so you need a better internet presence, one of the best things you can do for yourself is simply get reviews. Now, you have to get reviews on different places. You can get reviews on Google, of course, and then Bing and Yahoo. You can get them on yp.com, even on Angie's List and Healthgrades so you can have reviews in a lot of different places.
They say that the sweet spot for Google is between 12 and 15 reviews. If you have just six reviews on Google, you're not going to be shown so much, but if you get up to about 17 or 18, you're going to be showing more and more. I encourage you to get about 15 or 16 reviews on Google and then go to the other places like Bing and Yelp and Yahoo and get reviews with them, five or six will be enough with them.
Now where do you get reviews? You can't really ask your patients to give you reviews. That's not a professional way to do it. If they review you, that's fine, but you can't ask them to do it, but you can get reviews from your friends, from your family and from your colleagues or anybody else you know that would give you a good review. Maybe you and your colleagues want to review each other and give yourself five-star reviews, but at any rate just remember, in your climb to the top on the internet, it's going to be very hard to get to the top without more reviews.
I encourage you to start right now and put together a program aimed at getting more and more reviews for your internet presence because it'll certainly help you in your rankings.

This is Dave Kats. Thanks for listening.
