🔑 Keys To Patient Retention 🔑

Jun 17, 2025

Hello everyone, I'm Joel Duncan with Therapist Consultants. Today let's talk about patient retention. Keeping patients engaged in their care and loyal to your practice is one of the most critical parts of building a thriving business. The truth is people stay when they feel seen, understood, and when they experience real progress. But beyond that, retention often comes down to structure and communication. Now here's the first two and I'll give you the rest next week. One of the most important, effective tools you can implement is a written plan of care. We like to use a full colored handout or a brochure that outlines a few things like the patient's presenting concerns, any complicating factors, treatment goals, and the number of visits you're recommending. Like if you're planning 12 or 15 sessions, put that number down in writing. On the back, you can include relevant homework assignments, coping tools, or tracking sheets. Patients love clarity. And when they have a roadmap, they're more likely to follow through. Another powerful step is advanced multiple scheduling. Don't just schedule the next appointment. Schedule out all recommended sessions in advance, because this shows confidence in the process. It improves consistency and it fills your calendar with a predictable income. If you're a therapist consultant's client, review your retention strategy with your consultant to ensure you're maximizing that potential. And if you're not yet a client, now's the perfect time to join us. No matter where you find yourself, today's the perfect time to start seeing growth. Therapist Consultants gives you a complete customizable roadmap to success from startup to retirement. I'm Joel Duncan and together we can take your practice to the next level. I'll see you next week for part two of how to retain more patients.
